My Trip to the Redwoods
Earth
I
find a piece of earth
And
l lay
I
lay with my heart on the ground
And
let each of my heartbeats
kiss
earth
First
ever-so quickly
And
then ever-so gently
moment
by moment
she
grounds me
slows
me
calms
me
holds
me
And
then she whispers
“Just
lay,
Lay
and
let your heart be held,
your
worries be softened,
your
soul be consoled,
Just
lay, Dani
Just
lay
I
will not let go
I
am holding you.”

In
the Redwoods
I
go
To
find you,
Earth
To
surrender.
I
lay my heart to your heart
My
beat to your beat
And
I try
I
try to let go
To
trust
That
you have me
You
hold me
You
save me
At
first,
I
Resist.
Still
out of breath
From
the summit
Still
hearing the orchestra
of
my quick heart-beat
But
then…
Magic.
I
slowly release
I
slowly let go
I
slowly trust
That
you
You
enormous beauty of a spinning spirit,
You
Can
hold me
Will
hold me
And
do hold me.
And so,
I
surrender
To
your power,
To
your protection,
To
your guidance.
I
sleep
In
your shelter
With
your canopy as my refuge
your
sun as my blanket.
I
let my breath soften
And
echo your gentle wind’s breath
I
let my heart slow
And
echo your beat below
You
show me
That
I am loved
I
am supported
I
am always protected
On
this journey
We
call life.
Because
of you,
I
am ready
I
am ready to journey.
Filled
with love and thirst,
my
soul seeks
to
see, feel, and understand
Who
I am
Why
I am
Who
you are
Why
you are
Who
we are
Why
we are
And
so,
together,
we
journey…
